PROGRAM STATEMENT
CSPA provides students with the practical and theoretical knowledge necessary
to enable them to perform the roles of administrator, counselor, and educator
in Student Affairs and Higher Education Administration. After completing the
program, graduates will have the opportunity to serve as assistants to deans
of students, as officers, assistant directors, directors of various student
affairs units, and as counselors and advisors in academic units who provide
support services to students.
PROGRAM MISSION
Students in the College Student Personnel Administration concentration reflect
the increasing diversity of today's college campuses with respect to race, ethnicity,
nationality, gender, and age. The student body is both traditional and nontraditional.
CSPA includes students who are recent graduates, career enhancers, and those
persons seeking a career change. Full-time enrollment is preferred and recommended,
yet the program is flexible enough for those students who elect to attend part-time.
