Commission for Academic Support in Higher Education

Since 1977 the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) has encouraged academic success by supporting the Commission for Academic Support in Higher Education. As a commission we believe that students and their academic success should receive active and effective support from student development and the academic community.

Our Vision: To inspire partnerships for learning across academic and student affairs

Our Mission: To serve as a network for those interested in enhancing student academic support services and to inform the larger community regarding issues and trends impacting academic success.

Goal: Be recognized as the premier voice and resource for student and academic affairs educators engaged in partnership programming that enhances student learning

Objectives:

  • Enhance organizational stability and continuously attract effective leadership
  • Develop liaisons with ACPA commissions and professional organizations
  • Employ the latest technologies to facilitate marketing and outreach
  • Increase quantity and insure quality of Commission sponsored programs, Exemplary programs, and Pre-Convention workshops
  • Effectively market the products and services of the Commission for Academic Support in Higher Education
