March 20, 2008: The March "Pre-Convention" issue of our Transitions Newsletter is available online. Below are a few highlights of this issue.

Convention Showcase/Open Meeting Looking to find out more about our commission as well as meet others working in the areas of admissions, orientation, and first year experience? Stop by the convention showcase and/or attend our AOFYE open meeting (co-sponsored by NODA).
February 19, 2008: The Winter Issue of our Transitions Newsletter focusing on The First-Year Experience is available online. Also, congratulations to directorate board chair, Jennifer Keup, who was recently named director of the National Resource Center for First-Year Experience and Students in Transition.
November 26, 2007: Nominations are now being accepted for the annual awards sponsored by the Commission for Admissions, Orientation and First Year Experience. Categories include the following:
- Outstanding Undergraduate Student
- Outstanding Graduate Student
- Outstanding New Professional
- Outstanding Experienced Professional (4-10 years)
- Outstanding Experienced Professional (10+ years)
- Outstanding Project

October 30, 2007: The October issue of our Transitions Newsletter focusing on Orientation Programs is available online. Also the 2008 Directorate Board Application has been posted. Check out the Applying to Directorate section.
September 24, 2007: The Commission is pleased to announce the following:
- Jennnifer Keup will serve as Chair of the Commission until 2009. On the Directorate page, you will find out more information about Jennifer and the rest of our Directorate Board Members.
- The 2008 AOFYE Commission Grant Competition will award one $500 grant to support scholarly activity in the areas of admissions, orientation, and/or the first-year experience. For more information, please go to the Grants page
June 29, 2007: The June issue of our Transitions Newsletter focusing on Admissions & Enrollment Management is available online. Also the AOFYE Mentoring Program is accepting new applications for mentors and mentees. Check out the Mentoring section.
May 17, 2007: We encourage you to stay connected with the AOFYE Commission. We have recently updated information from the 2007 Joint Conference.
- On the Resources page, you will find PowerPoint Slides from our Commission Sponsored Programs.
- On the Awards page, we have posted the recipients of our Commission awards.
We also encourage you to stay active in the Commission. If you are not sure if your membership in the Commission is active, then login to myACPA, go to the Committees list, select AOFYE and click on Join Committee (This will let you know if you are a member or not). If you are a not member, we invite you to join!
March 15, 2007: The March "Pre-Conference" issue of our Transitions Newsletter is available online. In addition, the Commission congratulates Jennifer Hodges, the 2007 AOFYE Research Grant Recipient, with her proposal entitled College students’ reasons to attend college and learning community participation. Ms. Hodges' research offers an innovative approach to the topic of learning communities and addresses a gap in the literature and our understanding of the subject. February 26, 2007: The 2005-2006 annual report is now available online and highlights accomplishments in the Association and includes complete audited financial statements.
