Emily Russell, Publicity Committee:
The Publicity Committee has been in full swing in
preparation for the upcoming convention. Several universities in the
Baltimore and greater DC area have been notified of CCAPS programming,
so hopefully there will be a lot of attendees from the local area!
Additionally, several committee chairs have been working hard on
organizing the CCAPS programming schedule, which is nearly complete. All
attendees to CCAPS programs will receive a program schedule at the
convention.
Joy Stephens,
Continuing Education Committee:
The Continuing Education
Committee is excited to sponsor 39 programs at the ACPA Convention. Topics
include ethics, multiculturalism, group, outreach, and prevention.
Volunteers will be needed to assist in distributing CE packets and
materials. Please contact Joy
Stephens for more information. Thanks for your support!
Dwaine Campbell, Programs Committee
The list of CCAPS programs has been updated to include the CE
programs available at the convention: CCAPS
Programs and Meeting, 2011
Tom Berry, Archive Committee
I have been working with current and past CCAPS leadership,
as well as the ACPA Archivist, in developing both the handbook for this
reconstituted committee and to begin drafting checklists to aid in
identifying documents from the commission’s work that need to be included in
an archive. I am very grateful for the contributions of many CCAPS members,
particularly the current and past commission chairs. The handbook and
checklists will be ready to pass along at convention.
Sarah Mebane, Membership Committee
The membership committee has worked this year on trying to
come up with new ways to increase our membership. We have updated the CCAPS
brochure, as well as creating “wallets” with information about CCAPS that
can be distributed throughout the convention (and beyond!). As the
convention approaches, we are gearing up to spread the word about CCAPS
membership opportunities at our events throughout the convention.
We would like to invite you to join us for our “Meet and
Greet” dinner on Saturday, March 26th, at 7:30 p.m. This dinner,
which has formally been called the “Reunion” dinner, is an informal, no-host
dinner which will allow us to reconnect at the start of the convention. The
location this year is
Phillips
Seafood restaurant, which is located at 301 Light Street in Baltimore.
Anyone interested in CCAPS/college mental health is welcome to attend. Please
RSVP to
Sarah Mebane by Monday, March 21.
We hope to see you there!
As you know, each year we have a table at the ACPA Convention
Showcase. As a way to increase attention and membership, we try to have
giveaways like sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, mugs, etc. Those giveaways are
donated by you all and your schools! So, I am writing to ask that you all
start working on donations from your school. I have e-mailed a letter with
more information, and this letter can be used to recruit items from your
school or office. If you have donations, please
email me to let me know what you are
going to bring. I want to make sure that we have enough giveaways.
Thanks so much in advance for your time and help!
Jim Dolan, Elections Committee
We received unanimous, overwhelmingly positive endorsement
from you for our outstanding CCAPS Chair-Elect nominee, Dr. Carolyn
Bershad! Congratulations Carolyn!
