Understanding Students’ Views of Effective Alcohol Sanctions to Advance Wellness

Presenter: John W. Lowery (Indiana University of Pennsylvania)
Where: Bally's Las Vegas, Las Vegas 5
Program Description:
Throughout the history of American higher education, institutions have struggled with alcohol abuse. While considerable research has been conducted on the nature of student alcohol use, little is known about the effectiveness of sanctions imposed upon students and even less about student views on those sanctions. This presentation reports on the results of groundbreaking national research seeking to answer this question from the perspective of students who have been found responsible for violating institutional policies governing the use of alcohol. #ACPA13W
