ACPA RSS Feeds ACPA RSS Feeds

What is RSS?

RSS is a syndication feed which allows the user to take control of the information they want to receive, and allows near-real-time updates of the information important to them. There are several different formats of RSS available. ACPA uses RSS 2.0 specifications. The RSS Feed icon indicates that a feed is available for the associated content. By utilizing RSS feeds you can bring important information to you without the need to filter through your email. Some programs will even give you instant notification when a new article has been posted.

How do I use RSS feeds?

In order to utilize an RSS feed you'll need an RSS feed reader. There are many available on the market both free and for a fee. In addition there are many websites that act as feed readers. You can view a partial list of feed reader software at the Google RSS Feed Reader Directory. Websites that will also act as feed readers include MyYahoo!, Google Reader, NewsGator, and BlogLines. There are many others available. (ACPA does not endorse or recommend any specific RSS reader. Please read the license agreement completely and use at your own risk). In addition Mozilla Firefox has the ability to read RSS feeds, and will automatically detect websites with feeds. If you see the RSS Feed icon in the address bar, than Mozilla has detected a feed. You can click on it to automatically create a "Live bookmark."

When using a feed reader program or website you will need to copy the feed URL by right-clicking on the feed icon and selecting "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location." You will then paste that link into the appropriate text box of your reader.
