ACPA Past Presidents

In 1924, May L. Cheney became the first president of the National Association of Appointment Secretaries, which would become the American College Personnel Association in 1931. For decades to come, our presidents would appreciate the precedent that the founding women of ACPA set, not only in their leadership, but in their original mission dedicated to research, community, and service. As each ACPA presidency is unique in an ever-changing society, one thing has always been constant: their passion for student affairs and their commitment to boldly transforming higher education. Read about our past presidents below.
