Dear Members and Guests:

I am hoping that everyone is having a great summer. We just completed the Standing Committee's Mid-Year meeting that was hosted by American University in Washington, DC. I would really like to thank them for their generous support, which made it possible for us to visit places for the dinner out and our many other events. We have begun updating the Washington DC local businesses tab. If you know of a great place that you would like spotlighted, please drop our Director for Marketing and Communications a note. Please remember that the links we provide should be inclusive of our diverse community.

While summer is usually our "down" time on our college campuses, the Standing Committee has been busy reading the many responses that were given to us on our membership survey. First off, thank you for all the feedback. We were able to review it at our Mid-Year meeting. In the review, we took note of how we can continue to support our members and those areas that we need to work harder according to our membership. One of the immediate things that we have done is to begin updating and modifying our website. You will notice new links under the above tabs that have expanded educational and resource links. With the other constructive feedback you have given and continue to give, we are hoping to better serve our members and the ACPA community.

As always, we encourage individuals to get involved with the Standing Committee. We are always seeking volunteers and feedback so that we can continue to make the Standing Committee a valuable resource to our members. We would like to seek feedback on how to improve the website.  If you have information or a link that you feel would be valuable for our members, please feel free to send that to me and I will work on getting that information on our website. We are always looking for articles for the Out on Campus newsletter and for various initiatives throughout the year, including our elections.

The Standing Committee Directorate is here to serve and help our members and the members of ACPA.  I hope that you will take some time to get involved and make not only our Standing Committee but ACPA a better place for everyone!
