Latin@ Network Community Advancement Service Award

 

 

 

The Latin@ Network Community Advancement Service Award is given to an outstanding practitioner in the field of Student Affairs who has made significant contributions to the Latina/o community on their campus or in the greater community. The award was established to honor members of the Latin@ Network who promote and have made significant contributions to the advancement of Latinas/os on their campus, the community, or in higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a practitioner in the higher education field (includes graduate study and graduate assistant positions).
  • Must be a current and active member of the Latin@ Network.
  • Must attend the 2008 ACPA Convention in Atlanta, GA and must have current membership within ACPA.
  • Must actively promote the advancement of Latinas/os on their campus, the community, or in higher education.

Application Process

  1. Latin@ Network members, executive board members, and other individuals can nominate any qualified higher education practitioner by sending Erik M. Colon an e-mail by Friday, February 22, 2008.
  2. Once nominated, the candidate must submit an application form and two recommendation forms. A practitioner or supervisor within higher education must submit at least one of the two recommendation forms.
