About the Native American Network

The Native American Network (NAN) is one of four networks within the Standing Committee for Multicultural Affairs (CMA) within the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). CMA serves as a liaison to ACPA's leadership, focusing attention on issues in education and trends, which affect ethnic students and professionals in the College Student Personnel field.

Specifically, CMA is composed of four singular networks: Asian Pacific American, Latino, Native American, and Pan African. All four networks work collectively to promote diversity within ACPA. CMA is a nationally visible and action-oriented group that addresses the changing cultural dynamics within higher education institutions and works to create multicultural strategies and solutions.

In general, the NAN works toward providing community and professional network opportunities for American Indians and Alaskan Natives within ACPA. Additionally, NAN provides leadership within CMA, representing American Indian and Alaskan Native issues and advocating for programs, services and actions.
