The State Liaison program began in 1998 to enhance connections between SCW members in the states and the directorate body. State and International Liaisons (SAILs) have worked to give feedback to the directorate body on various issues including: balance of family and work, salary inequity, lack of female role models, and financial stability. The program has been working with the ACPA State and International Divisions to develop more collaboration with the state CPAs. SCW continues to define and develop the program towards improving outreach and communication with SCW members.
The SAIL program provides a means for outreach and communication between SCW state members and the SCW Directorate by:
- Creating opportunities for leadership and involvement for SCW members
- Disseminating ACPA information/initiatives for widespread feedback
- Compiling and addressing issues affecting women in higher education
