CPAC Annual Awards


 

CPAC is continuing the awards program to recognize those individuals who contribute to our campuses, CPAC, and the student affairs profession.  We are eager to recognize individuals who provide service, leadership, enthusiasm, and positive energy to our campuses, higher education, and CPAC.

We ask you to nominate deserving individuals for the awards.  Below is a list of the awards and criteria for each.  To nominate an individual, please send us a letter with the following information:

  • Award you are nominating for
  • Name of nominee, title, institution, address, phone, email
  • Your name, title, institution, address, phone, email
  • Supporting information on why this person deserves this honor – nominee’s background, accomplishments, and unique contributions

CPAC Awards

Professional organizations play an important role in higher education by singling out and presenting appropriate awards to individuals who have made meritorious contributions.  It is our desire to present the following awards to our Colorado colleagues during our annual winter conference.  The following are the awards to be given and the criteria for each.   All nominees must live and/or work in Colorado.

Distinguished Service to Higher Education
To honor an advocate who has given distinguished service to higher education and whose ideas show considerable promise for improving the quality of the learning climate.  Recipient must be a faculty member, administrator, or staff member at a Colorado institution.

Significant Research/Publication
To call attention to a significant piece or published report having both intrinsic merit and educational significance for the field of student personnel.  Recipients of this award must be a practicing professional, faculty member, or a masters or doctoral candidate in higher education, or the author of a major book or article appearing in a journal in the field of student personnel.

Outstanding Service to the Association
To honor a member of the College Personnel Association of Colorado for outstanding service to the Association.  Recipients of this award must be members of CPAC and must have contributed outstanding service to CPAC.

Outstanding Professional
To honor an outstanding professional for innovative/significant contribution to his/her campus, and/or contribution to the student personnel profession.  Recipients of the award must have four or more years of full time experience in student affairs.

Outstanding New Professional
To honor an outstanding new professional for an innovative contribution to his/her campus and/or CPAC.  Recipients of the award must have three years or less of full time experience in student affairs.

Outstanding Graduate Student
To honor an outstanding graduate student who has made a noticeable contribution to the student life area through their studies, work, and accomplishments.  Recipients of this award must be full time master’s or doctoral students at a Colorado institution. 

Outstanding Undergraduate Student Leader
To honor an outstanding undergraduate enrolled at a Colorado institution who has demonstrated leadership at the institution, has contributed to the student affairs area, and has a desire to begin a professional career in the field.
