Mission and Purpose
MCPA actively seeks to promote the ideology and philosophy of individuals committed to student development in higher education. More specifically, MCPA dedicates itself to:
- promote a variety of collegial interactions among individuals interested in student development;
serve as an advocate for the diversity of issues affecting student life;
provide programs which enhance student and professional development
encourage the use of basic and applied knowledge about students and their development;
actively recruit and retain persons of underrepresented populations into MCPA and thefield of college student personnel in Maryland;
provide leadership to the student personnel profession in the colleges and universities in the state of Maryland;
advance the contribution of student personnel administration in higher education through teaching, counseling, research, service and commitment to productive change in college student personnel practices; and,
- stimulate the professional development of college student personnel administrators within the state.
