in your MCPA!!!

Board members are essential to our organization and to our professional community in many ways, including governing, developing a vision,  monitoring the organization, fulfilling the mission, setting priorities and supporting program development.  Board members represent our members and are advocates for the various constituencies of MCPA.  Board members meet regularly and participate in committee work, member outreach, assistance with the development and implementation of MCPA initiatives, including our newsletter, listserv and web site, annual fall conference, drive-in workshops and other activities.

There are two ways to become a board member.  Our executive council members are elected and the rest of the positions are appointed.  The following elected positions are vacant for 2008-2009. 

President-Elect (1 position, 3-year term)

Secretary (1 position, 1-year term)

Treasurer (1 position, 2-year term)

Delegate - MN  State Colleges & Universities (1 position, 2-year term)

Delegate - MN Private Institutions (1 position, 2-year term)

Delegate-Technical College (1 position, 2 year-term)

Delegate-Community College (1 position, 2 year-term)

Delegate - University of MN System (1 position, 2-year term)

• Name, Title, Employer
• Educational & Professional Background
• Participation within MCPA
• Statement of Purpose/Vision
• Fun fact or humorous snippet about yourself or your experiences as college personnel:

To nominate someone else:  Send complete contact information (name, position, college or university, phone number and e-mail address) of the person you are nominating to Jennifer.guyer-wood@mnsu.edu by April 9.  A nominations and elections committee member will follow up with the nominee.
