MCPA Listserv

The MCPA listserv is a wonderful way to remain connected to the movements and decisions of the Minnesota College Personnel Association. It is also a helpful tool in contact colleagues throughout Minnesota for feedback, as well as providing them with your feedback and information. The MCPA listserv is located at:

In order to be placed on this listserv and post email messages to this listserv, you will need to become an MCPA member.

Listserv Policy for MCPA

Purpose

A Listserv is an electronic mail facility that allows members to participate in electronic discussion groups on an endless range of topics. The American College Personnel Association (ACPA) hosts lists for members and organization entities in support of the Associations' mission. In conjunction with ACPA the Minnesota College Personnel Association (MCPA) sponsors a list for members and organization entities in support of MCPA’s mission.

Advertising

Commercial advertising is specifically prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, advertising related to consultants, speakers, products, and promotions. At the list managers discretion, and consistent with the stated purpose of the list, job advertisements, professional development opportunities and other related informational items may be posted to a list by a subscribed member or the list manager. Requests made to the ACPA National Office, or other entity, to post an item to a specific list or lists will generally be forwarded to the list manager or sponsoring group for consideration. The ACPA National Office reserves the right to post items to a list or lists that are deemed to be of an urgent matter. Minnesota colleges and universities are permitted to advertise and post current position openings by sending an email to the listserv manager. Job postings will be posted to the listserv membership once per week. When submitting position openings please send position title, name of sponsoring institution and web address where the job posting can be found (HR page, etc.) whenever possible.

Subscribing Members to a List

To protect member privacy and the receipt of unsolicited email, individuals will only be subscribed to the list with their expressed permission or request to do so. When a listserv subscriber requests to unsubscribe this request will be honored and processed by the list manager as soon as possible. While the listserv is primarily for MCPA/ACPA members, non-Members are permitted to join lists at the discretion of the list manager and sponsoring group. Non-MCPA members may not serve as the primary list manager and MCPA reserves the right to limit assistance it can provide to Non-Members.

Bounced or Undeliverable Mail

Email returned as undeliverable will be automatically deleted, no retransmission will occur. Members who bounce a significant amount of mail will have their account automatically suspended until they contact a list manager to determine and rectify the mail delivery problem.

Privacy

List subscriptions will not be sold, rented or otherwise transmitted to groups, agencies or others outside of MCPA or ACPA. Subscribers, as a condition of subscribing to a list, must agree not to share the membership listing of their list with non-subscribers or outside entities.

Subscriber Etiquette

Subscribers are expected to communicate in a professional manner. Unprofessional, disrespectful or threatening communication may result in the suspension of a subscribers account privileges at the sole discretion of the list manager or systems administrator. Suspension of an account may occur with or without prior warning/notice.
