MCPA Graduate Case Study Competition
Case Study Competition Process
Each team will prepare a presentation addressing a case at the 2007 MCPA Fall Conference (the case will be emailed to you one week before the conference). Presentations should focus on topics such as; a brief summary of potential problems, possible resolutions, courses of action to be followed, literature or development theories to be considered, and future ramifications.
Each presentation will last 15 minutes (plan for approximately 10 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions).
Presentations will take place during Pre-Conference on Monday, October 22 nd (9:00am – 11:00am).
Presentation judges will be utilizing the following criteria when evaluating presentations: (Please note: they are not in order of priority, and are equally weighted)
- Practicality of approach
- Innovation of approach
- Application of student development theory
- Use of literature-both within and outside student affairs
- Presentation of case study
- Organization of presentation
- Creativity of approach and presentation
NOTE: The presentation order will be decided during the program session time provided. A Laptop and LCD projector will be provided, for your convenience, but feel free to bring any materials that will aid in your presentation. Awards
Each member of the 1 st place team from the Graduate Case Study Competition will receive a $50.00 Gift Card to Barnes and Noble. Awards will be presented at the Closing Lunch on Tuesday, October 23 rd, 12:00PM - 1:30PM.
