Finally, we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the tangible implications of hosting our annual convention in a space named after Christopher Columbus.  As you begin to draft your program proposals, request space for your events, and plan creative ways to attend the conference, we humbly request that you to consider refraining from using "Columbus" in a tongue-in-cheek effort to acquire interest in your initiatives.  It is our aim to honor the land that will be hosting us in a manner where grace, courage, and knowledge intermingle.  Help us to create brave spaces by being mindful of the ways our words may impact those around us.
